The first knockout match of the IPL 2018 played between KKR vs RR at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. KKR eliminates RR in this season of IPL 2018. So, CSK, SRH, and KKR are the top 3 teams confirmed. On winning the toss, Rajasthan Royals elected to field first. Batting for KKR, Sunil Narine, Robin Uthappa and Nitish Rana got out early within the powerplay. At the end of 8 overs KKR’s top batsman Chris Lynn also got out. However, Captain Dinesh Karthik and Shubman Gill build a good partnership of 55 runs taking the score at 106 runs. Furthermore, Andre Russel played an explosive inning hitting 5 sixes scoring 49 runs not out of just 25 balls. Dinesh Karthik played a Captain’s inning scoring 52 runs in 38 balls. Shubman Gill made 28 runs in 17 balls. Kolkata Knight Riders posted a target of 170 runs for the Rajasthan Royals.

Bowling for Rajasthan Royals, Krishnappa Gowtham bowled economically bowling 3 0vers giving 15 runs and taking 2 wickets. Ish Sodhi also bowled economically 4 overs giving 15 runs only. RR bowlers did a super job despite Andre Russel playing an attacking inning in the final overs. Jaydev’s complete season didn’t go well performance wise.

Rajasthan Royals batting started on a very good note. They build two good partnerships including batsman Ajinkya Rahane and Rahul Tripathi scoring 47 runs plus Ajinkya Rahane and Sanju Samson scoring 62 runs. Furthermore, RR was able to make 87 runs in first ten overs. However, things started to change from hereon. Ajinkya Rahane’s slow inning built pressure on Sanju Samson and they both got out soon. RR lost the match by 25 runs in the end.

KKR’s best bowler Kuldeep Yadav bowled 4 overs giving 18 runs and taking 1 wicket. Piyush Chawla bowled economically 4 overs giving 24 runs and taking 2 wickets. Prasidh Krishna in his final overs bowled extremely well. His figure reads 4 overs 28 runs and 1 wicket. That’s how KKR eliminates RR.
