The 3rd ODI match of the London series between England vs Australia played at Trent Bridge. This match made and broke many records. England batting first made 481 for 6 which is the highest ODI total in the history of ODI cricket. They surpassed their previous highest ODI total of 444 for 3  vs Pakistan played at the same venue 2 years ago. Australia won the toss and opted to bowl first.

England batting first made 481 for 6 in their 50 overs. Opening batsman Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow provided an explosive start to the inning. They build a very strong partnership of 159 runs in just under 20 overs. However, Jason Roy got run out unfortunately by a combined effort of D Arcy Short and Paine. Jason Roy made 89 runs hitting 4 sixes and 7 fours. Furthermore, Jonny Bairstow went on to hit a century pairing with Alex Hales. Jonny made 139 runs in just 92 balls hitting a total of 15 fours and 5 sixes.

However, Alex Hales batting at first down steal the show by hitting a blistering knock of 147 runs also in just 92 balls. He struck a total number of 16 fours and 5 sixes. Captain Eoin Morgan was no less, he scored 67 runs in just 30 balls hitting as many as 6 sixes. And together they took England to the Highest ODI total ever of 481 for 6. Moreover, they surpassed their own highest total of 444 for 3 played against Pakistan two years back.

Australian bowlers had a rough day. They were hit all over the park ruthlessly. Andrew Tye was the most expensive bowler. He bowled 9 overs and gave away 100 runs without a wicket. Whereas, Ashton Agar was the most economical one. He bowled 10 overs for 70 runs and a wicket. Also, Jhye Richardson bowled a maiden over in his 10 overs giving away 92 runs and taking 3 wickets.

Australian batsman neither had a good day. When D Arcy Short got out on 15 runs. Whereas, Travis Head and Shaun Marsh build a fighting partnership  68 runs. But after that, no good partnerships survived. Travis Head scored 51 runs in 39 balls hitting 7 fours. Unfortunately, Marcus Stoinis who looked promising got run out at 44 runs. Furthermore, Aaron Finch, Ashton Agar, Glenn Maxwell tried their best but couldn’t more than score a ball run to the table. Because of England bowlers on top Australia was all out for just 239 runs in 37 overs only.

Adil Rashid was the most economical bowler for England. He bowled 10 overs giving away just 47 runs and taking 4 wickets. Also, Moen Ali bowled superbly his 5 overs taking 3 wickets in total.

Conclusively, England beats Australia by 242 runs. This is their biggest ever win in an ODI. Also, it is the heaviest defeat for Australia in terms of runs. England is 3-0 up in the series. Furthermore, England is the number one rank ODI team currently. Aaron Finch became the Man of the Match.
