Rohit Sharma Century Powers India to Series Win | Ind vs Eng | Final T20

The final T20 match of India Tour of England, 2018 played between Ind vs Eng. In a high scoring game, India beats England by 7 wickets and eight balls to spare. After winning the toss, India elected to bowl first. It was a high scoring battle between the two teams. However, it was the dynamic inning of Rohit Sharma who almost single-handedly took his team to win the game in style.

Batting first England opener Jason Roy and Jos Buttler made a strong opening partnership of 94 runs in just 7.5 overs. Jason Roy made 67 runs off just 31 balls hitting 7 sixes and 4 fours. Whereas Jos Buttler made 34 runs off 21 balls hitting 7 fours. Furthermore, Captain Eoin Morgan got out early. From there on Alex Hales handled the inning responsibly making 30 runs off 24 balls. Jonny Bairstow made 25 runs off 14 balls hitting 2 fours and 2 sixes. MS Dhoni in the death overs proved to be very deadly for England tailenders. He stumped and run out the tailenders quickly. Therefore, having a good start enabled England to post 198 runs at the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs.

 

Indian bowlers did a fine job with the bowling and fielding department, especially in the last few overs. Yuzvendra Chahal was the most economical bowler. He bowled 4 overs giving 30 runs with no wicket. Whereas Umesh Yadav was the most expensive bowler. He bowled 4 overs for 48 runs and 1 wicket. However, Hardik Pandya though he went for 38 runs in his 4 overs was successful in taking 4 wickets.

Chasing a massive target of 199 runs India, Shikhar Dhawan got out early. Whereas, favorite player Rohit Sharma struck a century powering India to win the series. Therefore, India won the match largely due to Rohit Sharma’s splendid inning of 100 runs not out in 56 balls. He hit a total of 5 sixes and 11 fours. However, Captain Virat Kohli was no less. He made quick 43 runs off 29 balls with 2 sixes and 2 fours. Whereas Hardik Pandya handled the inning thereon playing aggressively. He struck 4 fours and 2 sixes scoring quick 33 runs off 14 balls. India chased the target and made 201 runs in 18.4 overs at the loss of 3 wickets.

 

 

 

 

David Willey and Liam Plunkett bowled exceptionally well for England in the last match went for 37 runs and 42 runs respectively. Liam Plunkett bowled 3 overs giving 42 runs. David Willey also with his three overs took 1 wicket giving 37 runs. Furthermore, Ben Stokes proved to be the most economical bowler for England. He bowled 2 overs for 11 runs. Also, Adil Rashid bowled 4 overs giving 32 runs.

This is India’s 6th consecutive series win in T20 format.
