The 5th match of the series played between England vs Australia at Old Trafford, Manchester. England clean sweeps Australia 5-0. After winning the toss Australia opted to bat first. Trying their level best to win the final match, Australia got all out on 205 runs in just 34.4 overs. However, England beats Australia by just 1 wicket leaving no stone unturned.
Batting first Australia had a remarkable opening start. The opening pair Aaron Finch and Travis Head made a partnership of 60 runs in just 6.3 overs. Aaron Finch made 22 runs in 17 balls. Whereas, Travis Head made 56 runs off 42 balls. However, Alex Carey batting at third down position played brilliantly scoring 44 runs off 40 balls hitting 5 fours and 1 six. Also, D Arch Short played a remarkable not out inning of 47 runs off 52 balls. No other batsman contributed much to the scorecard thereafter. Australia managed to score 205 runs at the loss of 10 wickets in 34.4 overs.
England bowler Adil Rashid bowled economically. He bowled 8 overs giving away 32 runs and taking 1 wicket. Furthermore, Moen Ali also took 4 wickets in his 8.4 overs giving away 46 runs. Sam Curran also took 2 wickets. He bowled 6 overs took 2 wickets giving 44 runs. Adil Rashid was the most economical bowler in the England team.
England needed 206 runs to win the game and take the lead up to 5-0. The openers got out really quickly. Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow have consistently provided the good start to the team but not in the final match. Furthermore, Jos Buttler scored 110 runs off 122 balls hitting 12 fours and 1 six. Whereas no other batsman could make more than 20 runs. Therefore half work was already done by the Jos Buttler. The wickets kept on falling from the other end. Jake Ball held on to his nerves for 10 balls. Thus England was able to beat Austraila by just 1 wicket.

Australian bowler Nathan Lyon was the best economical bowler. He bowled 10 overs giving just 32 runs. Furthermore, Bily Stanlake proved to be the most wicket taking bowler. He bowled 10 overs giving away 35 runs only and taking 3 important wickets of Jonny Bairstow, Captain Eoin Morgan, and Joe Root.
